It is important to talk about suicide.  This space is to explore your feelings and how you know when you're at risk.

Here are some ideas to think about:
  • How would you know if you had hope?  What would be different? What's the first thing you would notice?
  • What would create space for hope?
  • Who will miss you?

It is understandable to
feel self-destructive feelings.
It is very important to talk about them and ask for
support and receive it.

May this be a space where
shame and fear
do not get in the way of
expressing these feelings.

Let's work together
to create hope.
And if you are unable to hold onto hope let the
community we create here
hold onto the hope
until you're ready.

People living with Bipolar Disorder are at
high risk for suicide:
  • During mania, the feelings of invincibility lead to dangerous and reckless behaviors that end lives.
  • Suicide does not typically occur during depression, it is most likely to occur as the symptoms of depression begin to alleviate.
"Despair
doesn't happen in isolation.
It happens when something
is taken away that is
treasured."
